HILL HOUSE, LONDON

The Hill House development was a former 1970s office building on the Archway Island site in Islington. The works comprised retaining the existing building and converting floors into residential use creating 168 apartments, duplex units and recreational facilities in addition to basement car parking. There were sectional completions for the main works and extension phases.

Situated above Archway tube station, the scope included removal of the existing façade and finishes from the original eleven storey office building followed by a 2 floor vertical extension. The construction was steel frame and fully clad in a unitized façade and brickslip system. An extensive validation exercise was undertaken to expose the original building foundations with a carbon wrap used to reinforce the stair cores.
